The documentary about Steve Irwin's adventure to the frozen continent of Antarctica "Ice Breaker" received an award at the 2006 Qld and NT ACS Awards for Cinematography.

Craig Lucas was presented the Silver ACS Award in the Documentary: Cinema and TV category by Geoffrey Simpson ACS (DOP on "Shine", "Oscar and Lucinda").

In accepting the award, Craig remembered how great it had been working with Steve and thanked other cinematographers who pioneered the distinctive Croc Hunter style. Craig also recognised the invaluable contribution of Producer/Director John Stainton and Associate Producer Justin Lyons who's creative cinematography makes every Croc Hunter doco that much more exciting.

Also on the night, John presented a moving tribute to Steve Irwin highlighting Steve's ability as a cameraman. The award for Nature and Wildlife Cinematography was dedicated to Steve's memory.

Other cinematographers who worked with Steve were recognised at the awards. Henry Pierce ACS received his ACS Accreditation and John Stokes ACS won two Gold Awards and the coveted Judges Award.

The 2006 Qld and NT ACS Awards were dedicated to the memory of Gaffer John Bryden-Brown (JBB).
