Moving crocs around Australia Zoo is a big job involving scores of highly trained zoo staff and in a world first for Animal Planet, Steve will undertake the dangerous exercise live-to-air during US prime-time.

The plan is to relocate a number of long-term resident crocs at australia zoo into the new triple croc display enclosure.

It normally takes days to prepare and move just a couple of crocs, but Steve is going to capture and relocate three of the zoo's most aggressive crocs in a two hour live show to launch Animal Planet's Croc Week.

Ponds are drained and the crocs captured and pulled into the waiting crates.

To ensure the Crocs are moved from one side of the zoo to the other in the most expedient manner, Steve has engaged the assistance of Queensland's biggest helicopter.

The crocs are released into their new enclosure before they realise what has happened.

The whole event was captured by the ABC's team in a five camera OB. They were joined by Craig Lucas who had worked extensively with Steve in close proximity to crocs, to operate the handheld camera within the enclosures.

The openning live show was one of the highest rating two hours of television on Animal Planet for the year.
